25th & 26th August - Beurs van Berlage
Third edition of the 'street art' fair the Amsterdam International Art Fair. Works on show from Damien Hirst, Mr Brainwash, Tracy Emin and Loes van Delft.
On 25th and 26th August at the Beurs van Berlage, Damrak 243, 1012 ZJ Amsterdam, the third edition of the Amsterdam International Art Fair will take place. With over 150 exhibitors showing work of renowned artists and upcoming talent with a wide-variety of mediums such as Paintings, Photography Art, Illustrations, Sculptures, and Street Art from over the entire world; USA, Australia, France, Japan, UK, and of course local talent from the Netherlands. The accent lays on contemporary art with a special focus on street art.
There will be works on show of Damian Hirst (UK), Shepard Fairey (USA) famous street artist Mr Brainwash (F), award-winning Japanese artist Ishi Tashiro (Japan) and famous Dutch pop artist Loes van Delft (NL). The art fair, that gained over 7000 visitors previous edition, is an initiative of Global Art Agency - who after successful editions in Vienna, Tokyo, Miami and Oxford now once again lands in Amsterdam.
"This event attracts galleries, cultural organisations, art critics en of course a lot of art collectors. During the fair there will be more than 3000 pieces exhibited that will all be for sale from a varied price range between € 250 - € 155,000 EUR. This is then also a very interesting opportunity to get known within the contemporary art world and invest, whether you are a professional investor, art dealer, starting collector, admirer of art, or potential buyer." thus the organisers of the Global Art agency Joëlle Dinnage and Natal Vallve.
Among other things, at the art fair works will be on show of nonetheless:
- Tracey Emin (UK): Feminist artist known for her autobiographical, sexually charged works of art.
- Mr Brainwash (F): Pop graffiti artist and filmmaker, active from Los Angeles.
- Loes van Delft (NL): Her creations offer a mix of cartoon, pop art and illustrations.
- Shepard Fairey/Obey Giant (USA): Street art artist collectively known for the Obama campaign poster 'Hope'.
- Damien Hirst (UK): One of the most famous and influential artists of his generation. Death is a central theme in his work.
- Ichi Tashiro (J): Japanese Pop Art artist who likes collages.
- Jean-Yves Le Breton (F): French painter famous for his surrealistic landscapes.

Friday 25th of August: Vernissage with champagne reception and DJ music from 18.00 to 21.00 (entrance fee: € 10, - or by invitation).
Saturday 26 August: opening hours from 11:00 to 17:00 (free entrance). On Saturday at 4 pm, the Best Artist Award will be held by a three-member jury consisting of Henk Veen (artist), Annemarie de Wildt (Amsterdam Conservatory) and Ruurd Hallema (sculptor).
